Ever since I discovered that my feet had a huge propensity for abuse, I’ve loved loved LOVED wandering afoot. But then again, there are some things that *might* just look better when gazed upon from above.

Good morning, sunshine!
Grab a bagel, gulp down that cup of joe, then head off to the Met to start off your day. The Metropolitan Museum of Art opens at 9:30 am, and offers a Highlights tour almost every hour starting at 10:45-ish, to help you find your way through this mammoth of an art refuge.
Unless you plan on spending the whole day to comb the gazillion of tributes to divine craftsmanship, I suggest that you do your research in advance and just choose the galleries that you really want to see. The Met caters to all kinds of fanatics — from devotees of the classic and the ancient, to aficionados of the edgy and modern, from the earthy to the whimsical — there’s something for everyone. It still blows my mind to think about how they managed to get all those glorious works of art under one roof — it’s as if the Celestial Star of Everything-Almighty-in-the-World-of-Art wandered into the museum and suddenly burst, just leaving globs of awesome all over the place. From Dusk
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve cried during the Empire State Building scene in Sleepless in Seattle (who hasn’t?). I never actually thought that one day, I’ll be riding the same elevator ride to the top of the same building, hopefully to catch sight of the love of my life. Continue reading The Rock, the Empire and the Big Apple
[ Forgive the cheesy title — old towns make me mushy. Can’t be helped. ]
Gorging on trick-or-treat leftover loot, my sisters and I set off for a drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL). This quaint spot of Ontario oozes of old-town charm, its laid-back pace a stark difference to the raging waters of its better-known neighbor. Nothing quite screams love of country for me as much as these 2 things: homegrown cooking and local sports nuts.
Jackets? Check! Chips? Check! Extra jackets? Check!!
Three reasons kept me stoked about this road trip:
1.) After a week of meandering around Toronto, today was my first time to break out of the state of Ontario.
2.) It was my nephew and niece’s first backpacking trip on a Greyhound (yey for adventure!).
3.) After crossing the Pacific, I was finally going to meet up with my high-school friend, Mace!

A walk down Main Street in Unionville is like a step back in time.
That search to discover the unique, the strange and the clever beyond your imagination — it never gets old. Many times, I don’t realize that I’ve walked as far as 3 train stations, just strolling to see what’s going to pop up around the next corner. Continue reading CubeWorks: A Whopping Dose of Creativity
Markets brim with life. Stallkeepers abuzz as they open for the day and beckon curious customers. Farmers proudly bringing in (quite literally) the fruit of their labor. Patrons lining up 30 minutes well before lunch to get their favorite dishes and pastries before they run out. Continue reading To Market, To Market
One of the things I didn’t count on finding in Toronto was a ‘medieval’ castle. There it was, the majestic and imposing Casa Loma, perched atop a hill overlooking downtown Toronto.
Perhaps one of the most famous residences in the world, the castle has been once THE place to be seen; it was also the setting for recent flicks such as X-Men and Harry Potter. Yet, something tells me that Casa Loma was more about the man who built it rather than the mere building. Continue reading Mi Casa Es Su Casa
A guidebook wisely advised that if in Toronto, you might as well make the CN Tower your first stop, as you almost can’t shake off the sight whilst strolling downtown.
The book was right — even indoors, souvenirs and shirts flaunt the city’s iconic attraction. The CN Tower offers a lot of different ways to enjoy the spaceship-like steeple, ranging from buffets with 360-degree views to heart-stopping edge walks. Continue reading Want to Chill? See the CN Tower!
