A walk down Main Street in Unionville is like a step back in time.

CubeWorks: A Whopping Dose of Creativity
That search to discover the unique, the strange and the clever beyond your imagination — it never gets old. Many times, I don’t realize that I’ve walked as far as 3 train stations, just strolling to see what’s going to pop up around the next corner. Continue reading CubeWorks: A Whopping Dose of Creativity
To Market, To Market
Markets brim with life. Stallkeepers abuzz as they open for the day and beckon curious customers. Farmers proudly bringing in (quite literally) the fruit of their labor. Patrons lining up 30 minutes well before lunch to get their favorite dishes and pastries before they run out. Continue reading To Market, To Market
Mi Casa Es Su Casa
One of the things I didn’t count on finding in Toronto was a ‘medieval’ castle. There it was, the majestic and imposing Casa Loma, perched atop a hill overlooking downtown Toronto.
Perhaps one of the most famous residences in the world, the castle has been once THE place to be seen; it was also the setting for recent flicks such as X-Men and Harry Potter. Yet, something tells me that Casa Loma was more about the man who built it rather than the mere building. Continue reading Mi Casa Es Su Casa
Want to Chill? See the CN Tower!
A guidebook wisely advised that if in Toronto, you might as well make the CN Tower your first stop, as you almost can’t shake off the sight whilst strolling downtown.
The book was right — even indoors, souvenirs and shirts flaunt the city’s iconic attraction. The CN Tower offers a lot of different ways to enjoy the spaceship-like steeple, ranging from buffets with 360-degree views to heart-stopping edge walks. Continue reading Want to Chill? See the CN Tower!
Tales from the Maid of the Mist
When I started drafting the itinerary for my trip to Toronto, one item topped my list — it was imperative that I get up close and personal with Niagara Falls. Continue reading Tales from the Maid of the Mist
A Pumpkin Tradition in Scarborough

My sisters moved to Canada while I was still groaning about math within classroom walls, so we did miss out on a lot of would-have-been banters and memories revolving around family traditions. It was quite nifty, then, that I got to join in on a sacred tradition my sisters and their Ontario family has followed for almost a decade now — the annual pumpkin carving get-together! Continue reading A Pumpkin Tradition in Scarborough
I have a dream.
I dream that one day, when someone will ask me what I do for a living, I’ll be able to answer in earnest: “I live.”
Vintage Love at Oakham Market

I seriously should consider renaming my blog as ‘The Accidental Shopper’.
It began innocently enough. My mission for the day was to sift through Chinatown for some toys and souvenirs for my nephew and niece. Continue reading Vintage Love at Oakham Market
Good Morning, Sunshine! at the Botanic Gardens
Feeling guilty about the bag of Doritos I wolfed down by myself last night, I decided to do something extra special for my day’s morning jog. With the Circle Line recently opening its new stations, I thought it would be great to pay a visit at the once-almost-unreachable Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Glimpses of a Scottish Summer
The Anti-Midas Phobia: fear of doing something, lest turning gold nto lead.
I’ve been putting off making this video for months now. Yes, I was excited to share the clips I took during hikes, tours and walks around Scotland, but there was always the problem of finding the perfect song, concept, <insert-other-excuses-here>. Finally, the perfect song hit me during my morning jog, and you have to love it when things fall into place. It was a loooong labor of love, but it was well worth it.
Stunning landscapes. Killer hilltop views. Everything wonderfully Gaelic. Thanks Scotland, for just being you.
The good thing is the memoirs are already done — if you want to read about how Scotland bowled me over, the write-ups are over here: https://ishg.wordpress.com/tag/scotland/.
Fancy a Flea?
I could distinctly remember gaping in disbelief. ‘You bought that dress for only 5 bucks? FIVE BUCKS?!’
That was the first time I heard about flea markets around Singapore, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Around 75% of the things in my closet now are hauls from fleas, mostly steals really, ranging from 2 to 15 bucks (ssshhh!). Continue reading Fancy a Flea?
